Hint
Can you answer 10 correctly?
8 dimes and 1 nickel is
?
$0.10s
$0.05s
Each type of coin represents a different value
Quarters = 25¢
Dimes = 10¢
Nickels = 5¢
Pennies = 1¢
When counting coins, try adding up the values of each coin type and then combining the totals.
For example, if you start with 6 quarters, 2 dimes, and 1 nickel
Add together the 6 quarters (150¢), then the 3 dimes (30¢), and then 1 nickel (5¢)
Then combine each coin group (150¢ + 30¢ + 5¢)
